Key components of VEKA’s wellness program include onsite kiosks for weekly reporting of body mass index, blood pressure and steps; regular coaching calls: onsite biometric screenings; quarterly contests; and biannual health risk assessments.
Strong incentives are key to the success of the program, namely free healthcare for wellness participation.
In 2015, 75% of participants lost or maintained their weight, with an average weight loss of 8.34 pounds.
In the past year VEKA has added quarterly contests in an effort to focus attention on particular areas of concern, and healthier food options have been added to the vending machines.
